Review: AWAKENING: The story of a trapped soul

AWAKENING: The story of a trapped soul by Nivedita Vedurla
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Blurb from Goodreads: Social responsibilities and aging thoughts sometimes chain our being. Their existence doesn’t scare us, unless they start corroding our soul, our self-esteem.
Nina is a simple homemaker, who is caught between family and sudden realization that she is no more than a machine.
Will she break free from this invisible shackle witnessed and experienced by women since ages or be another victim? How will she unchain herself?
Read the book to find out more about Nina’s quest and destiny.
This book is for readers who think a change in outlook is must for the next generation.

I have quite mixed opinions for this book. The title says collection of short stories but if you combine and try to relate each scene with another it makes it one whole storyline. The plot is cliched where it shows everyday story of a woman. The story of her life from her childhood till the end. This book gives more of negative vibes out than it should, I don't know if that's just me who felt that.

While reading this, It felt like I was going through a plotline of 90's bollywood movie where there's one female character whose atrocities are ignored by most. It mostly shows struggles of being a female and how she sacrifices on different situations across the life. The writing it'd say is sub-par here where I feel it coud've been better. Scenes are dialogues aren't captivating. Apart from that its a really short read . For a fast paced reader it would take 10-15 minutes to read. That's all for this short story.
