They made me smile that day

How many times thinking about something or someone makes you smile in a day? Well for me there's always a smile on my face whenever I think about a tasty dish or a new piece of tech. There are many other things that make me smile but that day, the answer from my friend made me smile.

It was another usual day of mine where it began with my college, spending like literally 12 hrs outside and reaching home like a sucked up juice can. I dumped my bag in its place and jumped on the couch straightaway spreading over it. Just like my usual routine or I must say ritual I connected to my WiFi and then it began raining notifications of the whole day.

Well most of the notifications weren't that interesting apart from one message from very old friend. Due to hectic schedules we hardy had time to talk to each other these days and whenever I had free time she would be busy with work and vice versa. I quickly replied with a Hi! and awaited for the reply.

I didn't had to wait long for the reply as she was already online. The chat went on for a while and she asked me about how my book was doing. I was actually surprise she knew about it as She was offline for a few months due to her exams for which she was preparing from a very long time. So playfully asked if she liked the book or not, assuming she already read it. But to my surprise she was yet to get the book.

Considering her birthday was next week I asked her if she'd like tor read it if I gift it to her. Well then there was the reply which made me smile and proud at the same time. She said she'd wait for first stipend that she'd be getting from her internship and then she'll buy the book. To be honest I was already impressed. It's not like she's the only one who answered that, but the moment when old friend whom you think you had almost lost touch with says that she'll get your work from her first stipend is quite touching in its own way. Its a very different feeling to be honest.

There are many friends whom I'd love to name but considering their privacy I won't. They almost said the same thing to me when I offered them a review copy. Each one of them wanted to support me as Author and rejected my offer to get them review copies.

It's not easy for every author to go ahead and offer review copies, they're kind of used as marketing tools to spread a word about your work in market and get more readers. My friends somehow understood this and honestly that was beyond my expectations. You don't get people each day to save up some bucks from their pocket money or wait for their first stipend to buy your book. This post is more of a personal huge thank you to all of them. I had planned this post a long back but couldn't pen it down due to stuff happening around.

If you think these are my college friends or someone whom I know around me then nah! these are my friends whom I met online via Wattpad. To be honest I even have seen most of them in real life and yet when you receive so much love it just feels like heaven.

My Day at DevC Conclave - Facebook Developers Circles Mumbai

So yesterday I was at the DevC Conclave at DBIT which was by Facebook Developer Circles Mumbai. The event began with humor induced and inspiring lines by the Principal of DBIT. As every event has a flow, it had its own flow of speakers and there were lots of talk about Modern Coming age technology, Market and Development in the Technology sectors.

There were many things which I had already been in my knowledge all thanks to my geeky nature and Love for technology. There were also some things that were surprising enough and out of my knowledge. I thought VR was developed after Google had introduced the cardboard. Don't quote me on that as I had experienced the Cardboard and Samsung VR and a fest where they were displaying the surface of mars. VR is a technology which isn't available to to masses at the moment with its own well known reasons. But ever since the Cardboard technology as been in market and Android Phones are getting VR compatible, its penetration has certainly increased over the time.

This increasing penetration can be further increased as its a wonderful technology but as the speaker said in conference, VR isn't quite popular yet as there's no content for VR if anyone has it and No one makes content for VR first as there's not much people consuming VR content, being the same egg and chicken story. I absolutely agreed to that statement. Most of the content creators often run after the market trends which are been put forth my some organisations which do the data analysis. Though its a good thing to keep that in mind but a foolish step to make decisions based entirely on that.

Tech market at this time is facing most disruptions. There was smartphone era a few years back and now there's all the hype about AI and Machine learning in specific. I don't doubt it too. AI and specifically Machine Learning which is a subset of AI is been a boon to content based websites like YouTube, Facebook etc..

Think if there was No Machine Learning you won't be finding those suggestions based on your likes and activities on YouTube or Facebook. Though Advent of AI has surely increased the concerns about privacy and security all over the world.

Personally, I follow Elon Musk and I feel he is actually somewhere right about AI over throwing humans at a certain point of time in future. We might be the programmers but there will be day when AI will no longer need a human for its creation or any help.

There have been several instances in past about AI where in one case Facebook AI bots had developed a language of their own which was quite undecipherable by humans and they had to force shut that AI down.

Another point there was news in media about Google making AI to program software, which in turn resulted in replacing basic programmers and AI producing more efficient algorithms in less time.

There are many things where we AI is so awesome that it can send chills down your spine and at the same time it can make you awe about its wonderfulness.

AI right now is one of the major sectors where most companies are racing with each other to invest, research and incorporate any of subsets of AI in their products. Sadly hardly 19% have undertstood to concept of AI and rest are just trying to enjoy the creamy layer of it. I feel that can be harmful in most ways than being beneficial.

Most of these technologies like AR,VR, AI can be a lot of help in the medical science where we still use real bodies to train newbies. Imagine if  there were VR models of the organs where the newbie doctors can learn anatomy and surgery techiniques, that could be awesome! Many of the groups are now working in this area to fill up the gap.

All of this is like been discovered and has already disrupted the market heavily. But the Next big thing that is imagined to change the market is Blockchain. One of the most famous execution of the Blockchain technology is Bitcoin and many other similar cryptocurrencies in the market.  Blockchain is a wonderful unexplored area of the technology where many huge titles have been exploring and investing in it right now.

Even I personally feel with the advent of IoT and its use being on rise, Blockchain if combined with IoT can create miracles. Though that is one of my personal pet projects where I want to combine both of them with ML Neural Network in background tasks to make the decisions. It would be really wonderful to see real life applications of all these technologies in market where they're easily available to the people.

Blurb from Goodreads:
One cure can save them all...

This was one of the fantasy books which was in my list. So Finally I had time this week and had it out for reading. I loved how the book began where the in the past and then it straight gets into the present. I liked the creativity of the fantasy world, like the fairies, giants and all. Its not easy to create a magic world for sure.

Apart from being a fantasy world, there was a lot of plot twist and storyline here. There are a lot of love hate moments inside the story as you'd love certain parts of lead and hate some. It keeps interest going on through out the book till the end. As for me it was quite predictable as I had guessed most of things in first few chaps. I won't lie but still I enjoyed reading it till the end.

Things I didn't like much were the end of the story and magical details about the creatures being spoken off. It felt like if there could've been more it'd be a lot more fun. The end of the story was a kind off cliff hanger. It felt like 50% cliff hanger and 50% The end. It was weird but unique.

For all the fantasy fun, magical adventure journey I'd surely recommend it.

The Reason I Respect Them

I didn't had any plans to blog today since I was reviewing a book which you'd be soon getting to know about, but something happened which made me think and you know when I think something pops on this blog. So here I am with a new mind tickling post.

People always talk about respect, some want to gain respect while some are somehow trying to respect. Some have the attitude of give and take respect. But you know what?  Respect is something that should better come straight from heart. It's that feeling of adoring and admiring someone where you take their example as an inspiration in your life. Respect isn't a task that you should do just because you are asked to do.

There might be several contradictions in your mind right now, I know. We are always asked to  Respect elders, why? Well because they are adults? No, I don't think so, we should respect them because they have more experience and knowledge of something called life. Apart from elders, there are loads of people that gain respect from us somehow when we walk down those streets.

Personally Me as an Individual and not considering any bias respect self-made people. I don't know why but when I see some people crazy fanning behind any personality I am not hyped with the crowd unlike them. You would hardly find me saying that I really admire that person or am fan of them.

Well I was listening to this pop song which was quite popular on YouTube and I Eh, Another pop song and then I clicked to listen the track. I must say the track was catchy and was influenced by many International styles but the thing that grabbed my attention was the singer's exclusive Interview With some another channel that YouTube was suggesting me.

After playing that song a few times which was quite addictive and catchy track as I said, I clicked on the Interview. Usually I don't look forward to any celebrity interview but somehow I was expecting something from it that I don't know why?

I watched the entire interview and well I was mentally respecting that singer more than I just had after I listened to his song. He was a self-made man and well it was his journey that made me respect him. At a tender age, being on top of one of this first chosen careers he had a massive drop before getting to singing which was his second passion or a hobby.

You see the difference in thoughts when you respect someone? One is like Eh, another song and then there's  This is awesome. That difference is called respect. Its not like only elders can get respect. There are kids I've seen who are brilliant in their own ways. Then there are people who have made themselves from their hard work.

I can't just respect the ones who have always been with a jump start. It just don't come out on its own. They might have loads of fan following over Internet or Worldwide but I will just be like eh, that's another one. I am sure most are going to count me as douchebag. But its something I can't help myself out with, you just can't force respect for someone.

Its the same with most of us when it comes to finding partners. You just don't love someone truly until you start respecting them as a person. Surely he/she won't be a internationally known celebrity but If you can respect them they are not less than a celebrity for you.

With this I'd end this post and leave a question for you. What do you see in someone to respect them?

I was longing to read a really good science fiction for a long time and then I stumbled upon this book. Well I must say author has done really nice job working with the characters, scenes and technical aspects in the book. I felt like reading a star trek version of a book. I am pretty much sure if you are star trek fan, you might love this book. All of those Inter-Planetary stuff will excite you and keep you guessing.

I really enjoyed reading it throughout but there were a lot of confusions with the new-worldly terms and things that were mentioned in the book. I wish there could be a glossary to decipher the meanings of those things. Apart from that, I was able to get many terms by the time I finished the book that had me confused and head scratching in the beginning.

Narration was brilliant and the writing style was enjoyable. There were areas, I felt it could've been more engaging but well it might be just me. I'd recommend this book to geeks or the ones who like reading geeky, techie and suspense filled books. It is the first book in series so I am excited to see what will be coming in future releases.

I'd classify it as one of the hidden gems, try it and you will love it.
